Wire & Bead Crochet Bracelet

Crocheting takes on a new dimension when using wire!  Beaders will delight over a new way to play with beads, and seasoned crocheters will enjoy this fresh approach to their favorite technique.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • Glass beads
  • 26 gauge wire
  • crochet hook
  • Wire cutters
  • Clasp set

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Crochet rows of wire to desired length and width just as if you were using yarn.
  • Cut the wire from roll leaving a tail twice as long as your piece.
  • Wrap one half of clasp set to end of piece where you left off.
  • Weave beads throughout piece using a half cross-stitch (/).
  • Wrap other half of clasp set to opposite end of piece.
  • Wrap wire tail tightly, trim close, and tuck in loose end.
  • Weave in any other loose wire tails.
  • To crochet a bead into each stitch as you go along see Bead Crochet instructions.

TIPS:

When working with beading wire, remember the higher the gauge, the easier it is to bend (18 gauge wire is harder to work with than 22 gauge). Work slowly as wire tends to kink.
