Making a Pony Bead
Loom
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Box lid larger than
loom patternYarn to
match background on loom patternRulerPencil
Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Measure & mark a 1/2" border on top and bottom edges of cardboard.
Using a ruler, mark 3/8" increments on both ends. Cut
notches down to the 1/2" line (will appear as fringe). This
measurement is for 6x9mm pony beads.
-
Now you will "warp" your loom. Tie a knot in the end of yarn and
slip through first notch at top left with knot on backside. Bring
yarn down to matching notch below and slip through. Bring yarn up
and into notch beside the one you just did (You should have a
little loop on back side). Pull yarn firmly and bring up to
matching notch at top. Slip through this notch, and continue
wrapping and looping in this fashion until you have reached the end.
Tie a knot behind the cardboard.
-
Proceed with beading by following instructions for
Using Your
Pony Bead Loom.
TIPS:
Children should ask an adult to do the cutting!
